SZ-3400

SZ-3412 mast arm mount flashing beacon with 20W solar engine

This series of beacons run on a preset schedule and are ideal for school zone speed limit signs installed on the roads surrounding a schoolyard, or at crosswalks that would benefit from scheduled flash periods at the busiest times of day or night. They can also be used for roadways and highways that require warning beacons to be flashing during specific days and times, which can also be adjusted remotely on demand.

With the convenience of cellular communication, or direct-USB connection, these beacons can provide diagnostic feedback as to flash status, battery health, and activation counting, as well as visualization on a map for convenient quick status checks and monitoring. These beacons create a simple setup when mounted with warning signs, and our variety of mounting options makes them easy to mount above existing or new signs.

With two lights, the SZ-3400 series beacons are designed to be mounted directly to an overhead mast arm with a warning sign between them. They can be a solution for streets that are busier or heavily used by trucks and buses that might obscure curb-side beacons from drivers in the left lane. They are perfect for locations such as:

School ZonesSlow drivers down and keep them alert as they pass through school zones.
Playground ZonesRemind drivers to slow down for playground zones.
Seasonal Road ConditionsAlert drivers to weather alerts and other road status.

All SZ-3400 beacons come with a choice of four flash patterns: MUTCD, Wig-Wag, JSFT Strobe, and JSFT Strobe Wig-Wag. The JSFT Strobe patterns are twice as effective at getting drivers’ attention, while using half the power draw of the standard MUTCD pattern.

About SZ Series Beacons

JSFT Programmable Beacons can be installed anywhere.* A preset flash schedule can be created using the web-based JSF Tech Beacon App and sent to the beacons wirelessly online, or with a laptop and USB with our offline scheduler. Beacons can also be activated using a cellular-enabled mobile device. The scheduling website can accommodate multiple years of programming, and diagnostic information can be accessed from cellular Primary Beacons.

Each Programmable Beacon set consists of two beacon types: Primary and Secondary. The Primaries store the programmed flash schedule and, if cellular-enabled, contain modems. The Secondaries receive daily on/off signals from the Primaries. Any number of Secondary beacons can be linked to a Primary beacon within range. When a Primary receives an activation command, it relays this command to all Secondary beacons within range in the series.
